Our Story

A shop built so you can see the work

Nearly everything that matters in a collision repair happens somewhere the customer never gets to look. We started Omega Autobody to change that.

Most people come to an auto body shop on the worst day of their month. They've been hit, they're dealing with ICBC, they don't know what anything should cost, and they have no way to judge whether the repair they're about to pay for was done properly.

That information gap is the whole problem with this industry. It's why some shops get away with filling a panel that should have been replaced, skipping a sensor recalibration nobody will notice until it matters, or handing back a vehicle that looks perfect and isn't. The customer has no way to tell — until the next collision, when it's far too late to find out.

Omega Autobody was built to work the other way around. We show you the damage. We show you the estimate, itemized, before anything happens. We photograph what we find once the panels come off, and if the scope changes you hear about it from us — with pictures — before we touch it. When you collect the vehicle you get a written warranty, not a handshake.

None of that is remarkable. It should be the baseline. That it isn't is precisely why we opened.

Straight Talk

What we won't do

We will not put words in a customer's mouth. The reviews quoted on our home page are lifted from Google exactly as they were written, and the link beside them goes to the full list rather than the three we happened to like.

We will not promise you a completion date we cannot hold, because a date you would rather hear is worth nothing on the morning it passes. We will not quietly add a supplement to an invoice and hope the question never comes up. And we will not hand back a vehicle that merely looks finished.

Judge us on the estimate we give you and on the vehicle we return. That is the only fair test of any repair shop, and it is the one we would choose to be measured on.

  • We follow the manufacturer's procedure

Before deciding how to approach a job, we look up the repair procedure published for your specific make, model and year. High-strength steel, aluminum and bonded structures each have their own, and they are not interchangeable.

  • Our equipment suits the cars being built now

Modern bodies and driver-assist sensors call for tooling and calibration equipment that many shops never invested in. Ours is current, because the vehicles coming through the door are.

  • We give you a date we can hold

Your estimate is prepared quickly and your vehicle starts when we say it will. If the timeline has to move, you will hear about it early rather than on the day you expected to collect.

  • You deal with the person accountable for the work

The shop is owner-operated, so whoever quotes your job answers for it. There is no layer of service advisors standing between you and the people doing the repair.

  • Every repair is documented

We photograph the vehicle before, during and after the work. If a component was replaced rather than repaired, the reason is there in the file for you to see.

How We Work

Quality. Integrity. Craftsmanship.

Three words on our logo. Here's what each of them actually costs us to mean.

Precision

Structural dimensions get measured against factory specification and verified again before the vehicle leaves. "Looks straight" is not a measurement, and we don't treat it as one.

Quality

If a part is specified as replace-only, it gets replaced — even when filling it would be faster, cheaper and completely invisible to everyone but us.

Craftsmanship

The repair should be impossible to find. Colour blended into adjacent panels, texture matched to the surrounding finish, panel gaps even on both sides.

The Shop

Inside Omega Autobody

Photography of the Fraser Highway shop is on its way. We'd rather show you our own bays, our own booth and our own work than fill this page with stock images of somebody else's shop. Photos go up once we're settled into the Fraser Highway building.
