Privacy Policy

Omega Autobody ("we", "us") operates omegaautobodyshop.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you submit our estimate request form, we collect:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• Vehicle details you provide (year, make, model)
• Your description of the damage
• Any photographs you choose to upload
• Your ICBC claim number, if you provide one

We also collect standard website analytics — pages visited, approximate region, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Why we collect it

We use the information you submit to:

• Prepare and send you a repair estimate
• Contact you about your enquiry or repair
• Process your insurance claim, where you've asked us to
• Keep records of work performed, as required for warranty and tax purposes

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

We disclose your information only where it's necessary to do the work you've asked for:

• ICBC or your private insurer — where you've asked us to handle a claim on your behalf
• Parts suppliers — limited to vehicle details needed to order the correct parts
• Service providers — our website host (Netlify) and analytics provider (Google Analytics) process data on our behalf
• Where required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal request

Where your data is stored

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, and analytics data by Google. Both operate servers outside Canada, which means your information may be stored in or accessed from other countries and could be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. By submitting the form you consent to this transfer.

Cookies, analytics and embedded content

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can block or delete these through your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them will not affect your ability to use this site or contact us.

Our contact page embeds a Google Map so you can see where the shop is. Loading that map contacts Google's servers and may set cookies, in the same way visiting Google Maps directly would. If you would rather not load it, blocking third-party content in your browser will hide the map — every other part of the page, including our address and the estimate form, works exactly the same without it.

How long we keep it

Estimate enquiries that don't result in work are kept for up to two years. Records relating to completed repairs are kept for as long as needed to honour our workmanship warranty and to meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are encrypted in transit. Access to submissions is limited to Omega Autobody staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.

Your rights

Under PIPA you may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
• Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the site.
